A journey of Rebirth and Resurrection.

It all begins with a ritual of rebirth. A journey through past, present and future. The past informed the future architecture and the present connected closely with the past, by recreating parts of it. Therefore the site history becomes a very important factor in the design process.

Situated on the Karnak, Luxor, Egypt, the site mainly assembled of ruins becomes part of the future, and layers of design are added to the temple, symbolizing its rebirths and resurrections.

City of Rebirth and Resurrection

The "City of Rebirth and Resurrection" is an innovative institute dedicated to exploring the concepts of rebirth and resurrection through religious, philosophical, and scientific lenses. Situated at the historic Karnak Temple in Egypt, the project harmoniously integrates the site's rich past with contemporary architectural design.

The design employs a layered concept: the present is represented by the existing ruins, the past is reflected through reconstructed temple elements that serve as the foundation for new structures, and the future is captured in contemporary architecture symbolizing the revival of history.

Notable features include an origin column that serves as a vital link connecting the Past, Present, and Future, symbolizing the rebirth of Karnak Temple history through its architectural elements. Positioned at the middle of the first temple built on site, this column acts as a structural embodiment of the infinite circles of rebirth, representing the eternal cycle of existence. Additionally, it integrates the six research facilities through an invisible line that runs through the heart of the column, uniting these fields in a seamless continuum of inquiry and understanding.

Layering the past, present and future.
